Ellen Fantaci oversees the Healthcare Regulatory Practice at Chehardy Sherman Williams. She was named a New Orleans Magazine Top Lawyer in 2015 for her work in the industry of healthcare law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Fantaci was a Physical Therapist, and she incorporates that experience into her legal practice. She focuses on regulatory and transactional law, fraud and abuse issues, compliance, Louisiana and federal healthcare rules and regulations, contracts, and healthcare business fundamentals.

Before joining Chehardy Sherman Williams, Ms. Fantaci served as a federal judge law clerk in the United States Federal District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana and as a District Attorney in the Appellate Division of the Jefferson Parish District Attorney Office. She is a faculty/adjunct for Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Public Health; Loyola University New Orleans College of Law; University of New Orleans; and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Physical Therapy.
Ms. Fantaci earned a Bachelor of Science from Marquette University and a Master in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In 1994, she received a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, followed by a Master of Law in health law from the University of Houston Law Center. She is a member of the AMerican Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Louisiana Hospital Association, attorney division.
