Jane Scheuermann has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1986. Ms. Scheuermann graduated from Loyola University New Orleans and received her Juris Doctor degree from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She began her legal career as a legislative assistant at the Louisiana Legislature. Subsequently, she worked as a staff attorney with the Office of General Counsel for the Louisiana Department of Health and Human Resources, where she represented the Bureau of Vital Statistics and Charity Hospital of Louisiana at New Orleans. Then as an insurance defense attorney in the healthcare section of the law firm Adams & Reese in New Orleans. As a contract attorney, Ms. Scheuermann has assisted the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and the Louisiana Supreme Court for the benefit of the public and enhancing the practice of medicine and law. She has been a presenter at various seminars related to healthcare and family legal matters.
Ms. Scheuermann has served as a member of the Ethics Committee at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, a member of the Board of Directors of the Advocacy Center for the Elderly and Disabled, a Family Mediator and Court Appointed Mediator in Orleans Parish through the New Orleans Bar Association Pro Bono Project, and as a member of the Public Access and Consumer Protection Committee of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Ms. Scheuermann is also a member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, a member of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, and a volunteer for the Public Broadcasting System and Bike Easy.
