Attorney Jacob Young in New Orleans, LA

Jacob Young is a Partner at Chehardy Sherman Williams with experience serving as trial counsel in judge and jury trials, federal and state court, and across a spectrum including injury, construction, lease disputes, domestic matters, insurance, class action, and business disputes.

Early in his career, Mr. Young established Young Law Firm and represented hundreds of insurance policyholders in litigation arising from insurance losses. His focus on bad faith insurance litigation included representations in multiple states. The firm continued to grow also representing a broad range of commercial, injury, and other litigants.  By the time he joined CSW in 2019, the practice included multiple offices and had recovered millions of dollars in compensation for individual and business plaintiffs. Mr. Young has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, One to Watch by CityBusiness, and a Top Lawyer in insurance law and administratory law by New Orleans Magazine.

Mr. Young earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. He received his Juris Doctor degree and a Certificate in Civil Law from Tulane University Law School, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. Mr. Young serves on the board of governors of the Louisiana Association of Justice (formerly Louisiana Trial Lawyers’ Association). He is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Jefferson Bar Association.
