Courtney Papale Newton is an associate at Chehardy Sherman Williams. Her practice includes personal injury, life and estate planning and successions, family litigation, commercial transactions and litigation. She also handles cases related to administrative law, an area of the law pertaining to professional and occupational state licensing, professional and occupational regulation, and professional and occupational licensees such as accountants, architects, chiropractors, dentists, physicians, and real estate agents. Before joining CSW, Ms. Newton practiced law at a defense litigation law firm in New Orleans. She is a qualified mediator.
Ms. Newton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Orleans. She attended the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center where she received a Bachelor of Civil Law Studies and a Juris Doctor degree. She also attended the University of Aix-Marseille III Law School in France.
Ms. Newton is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, serving as secretary-treasurer for the Administrative Law Section, a member of the Twenty-First Judicial District Bar Association, and a Keenan Trial Institute member. In addition, she presents education seminars to professional state licensing boards and professional associations in the area of professional regulation and ethics.
