Sarah Christakis is an attorney at Chehardy Sherman Williams, specializing in healthcare law, including medical malpractice defense, physician and facility regulatory compliance with Stark, Anti-Kickback, and HIPAA. She handles transactional matters such as physician employment agreements, physician/group practice formation, physician/group ancillary service arrangements, billing service agreements, and information service agreements. Ms. Christakis has extensive experience in personal injury litigation and regulatory law, including practice before the Louisiana Public Service Commission, the Louisiana Pilotage Fee Commission, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, and the Louisiana Division of Administration.
Ms. Christakis earned a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. During law school, she served as an intern for The Honorable Judge Jay C. Zainey of the Eastern District Court of Louisiana, a clerk for The Honorable Judge Jewel D. Welch of the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal, and a judicial assistant for The Honorable Judges William G. Carmichael and George H. Ware in the 20th Judicial District Court. She later graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law with a Master of Law. Ms. Christakis is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
