Patrick K. Reso is a member of the Management Committee at Chehardy Sherman Williams and one of Louisiana’s most credentialed attorneys in his field. He holds dual board certifications from the Louisiana State Bar Association as a Tax Law Specialist and an Estate Planning and Administration Specialist.
Mr. Reso currently serves a three-year appointment to the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, which oversees the certification of legal specialists and promotes excellence through advanced legal education and rigorous professional standards.
Recognized for over a decade by Best Lawyers in America in Elder Law and Trusts & Estates, and listed in Louisiana Super Lawyers since 2008, Mr. Reso’s practice spans estate planning, successions and succession litigation, commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, taxation at all levels, business law, and litigation. With more than 25 years of experience in debt collection, he has successfully handled complex recoveries for banks, businesses, and individuals across Louisiana—including foreclosures, garnishments, and strategic asset recovery. A New Orleans native, Mr. Reso earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans and his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law, where he served on the Loyola Law Review and Moot Court Staff. Prior to joining Chehardy Sherman Williams, he practiced at Baldwin & Haspel in New Orleans and later became a partner at Seale & Ross, P.L.C. in Hammond.
Mr. Reso is a sought-after speaker on estate planning, asset protection, and corporate law, regularly presenting to the public, attorneys, and CPAs. His topics range from federal estate tax and Medicaid planning to special needs trusts and succession strategies.
Deeply committed to community service, Mr. Reso has served on the board of TARC in Hammond, as Director of Northshore Families Helping Families and Active Partners. He is a past President of the Northshore Estate Planning Council, a multidisciplinary association of estate planning professionals, including CPAs, Chartered Life Underwriters, Certified Financial Planners, and bank trust officers.
