Ms. Smith graduated summa cum laude from Sweet Briar College with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Spanish. She was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and the Sigma Delta Pi Honor Society for excellence in the study of Spanish language and culture. She lived and studied in Seville, Spain for a year where she perfected her skills of the Spanish language. Ms. Smith received her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University
Ms. Smith is actively involved in her local community and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hammond Downtown Development District and as President of the Louisiana Children’s Discovery Center. She previously served on the board of directors of the Tangipahoa Economic Development Foundation, Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing, Inc., and the Hammond Regional Arts Center. She was also Chairman of the Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce, the vice president of the board of directors of Child Advocacy Services, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Leadership Tangipahoa.
Ms. Smith is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Twenty-First Judicial District Bar Association, the Florida Parishes Inns of Court, and the Northshore Estate Planning Council. She is a regular presenter at National Business Institute continuing education seminars in the areas of estate planning and successions.
