As one of the founding members of our New Orleans law firm, Lawrence E. Chehardy has spent his four-decade-long career serving the people of Louisiana — whether through his countless testimonies to legislative committees regarding property tax exemptions and tax laws or his 34 years as the Assessor of Jefferson Parish.
Mr. Chehardy was recently recognized for his numerous contributions to our Louisiana community by New Orleans CityBusiness, who added him to their 2022 Power 50 List.

New Orleans Attorney David R. Sherman
Proud founding member of Chehardy Sherman Williams, David R. Sherman has been practicing law in Louisiana for over 40 years and counting.
During this span, Mr. Sherman has placed great focus on giving back to his beloved Crescent City — and the city has continuously shown its gratitude.
In 2022, Mr. Sherman was recognized for his commitment and service to New Orleans organizations by a few local publications.
Mr. Sherman was on the cover of the November issue of Biz New Orleans. In his featured article, he used his 40 years of experience to share advice with local family-owned businesses on how to continue their legacy.
Mr. Sherman was also recognized for his service to local athletic committees when he was inducted into the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation in October of 2022.
To round out the year, Mr. Sherman was named a New Orleans ICON by New Orleans CityBusiness.
While the recognition is certainly appreciated, Mr. Sherman won’t stop serving the Big Easy and its surrounding communities anytime soon.

James Williams leads the special litigation division of Chehardy Sherman Williams, known as The Trial Team.
Along with The Trial Team, Mr. Williams was able to score a verdict in favor of Huntsman Corporation against Praxair/Linde worth more than $125,000,000, as well as a defense verdict of $0.
